Student Chapter
The University of Central Florida student chapter was established in 1972 and has been active throughout the years. The chapter aims to enhance the personal and professional development of engineering students by providing hands on learning experiences, technical tours and seminars, as well as community outreach events. The UCF student chapter is able to create well-rounded individuals through: leadership, industry exposure, competitions, networking opportunities, and community service events. It is our mission to recognize the correlation between classroom teachings and real world practices as well as prepare our students for a career in the engineering field.

About UCF Student Chapter
The American Society of Civil Engineers at UCF (ASCE UCF) is the largest civil engineering organization on campus. We support civil, environmental, and construction students by providing professional and technical development, hands-on experience, and life-long connections. Our main goal is to prepare students for their professional careers. We offer professional development, technical, and service opportunities while helping students build connections with industry professionals to help them with job search and make a strong network in the field.
We host professional and technical workshops, company presentations, and networking events with industry professionals. Each year, we compete in the ASCE Southeast Student Symposium, where we compete in over 16 competitions across all civil engineering disciplines.
Competitions like Concrete Canoe, Steel Bridge, and Sustainable Solutions give students the opportunity to apply and learn valuable skills in design, construction, and teamwork. In recent years, UCF has been on a strong upward trend at the ASCE Southeast Student Symposium. For the past two years, ASCE UCF has placed 4th and 3rd Overall, with our two largest competitions placing 3rd in Concrete Canoe and 5th in Steel Bridge.
ASCE UCF is also committed to service. We organize volunteer events, STEM outreach programs, and socials that build strong friendships and a welcoming community.
At ASCE UCF, you’ll find more than just a student club. You’ll gain professional and technical experience, leadership skills, and a network that supports your growth as a future civil engineer.
